This week on HorseCenter, co-hosts Brian Zipse and Matt Shifman preview a slew 2020 Kentucky Derby preps, where big name 3-year-olds will have to beat talented upstarts as they prepare for the first Saturday in May.

At Gulfstream Park, Tiz the Law faces a formidable field in the Holy Bull (G3). In California, Bob Baffert’s Thousand Words has five opponents in the Robert B. Lewis (G3) at Santa Anita. Shotski also returns to Aqueduct looking for his second victory on the Derby trail in the Withers (G3).

Each of these events awards 10 Derby qualifying points to their winners and feeds into the next, more serious round of races worth 50 and a guaranteed shot at making the field.

HorseCenter will continue to cover the Derby trail on a weekly basis. As always, thanks for watching the show!
