HorseCenter: Holy Bull and Kentucky Derby prep picks

Photo:

This week on HorseCenter, your hosts Brian Zipse and Matt Shifman handicap and offer picks for a trio of 2022 Kentucky Derby prep races this weekend – the Holy Bull at Gulfstream Park, the Withers at Aqueduct, and the Robert B. Lewis at Santa Anita.

The Holy Bull (G3) drew a contentious field of nine headed by Mo Donegal who is already a winner on the Derby trail for Todd Pletcher. However, neither Matt nor Brian have picked that likely favorite on top.

The Withers (G3) attracted a field of 11 with Early Voting likely to be the favorite for Chad Brown. Once again, the guys are looking for a better price in this New York feature.

There is another small field in a California stakes race and the Robert B. Lewis lost its headliner when trainer Doug O’Neill decided to aim Slow Down Andy for the Risen Star later in the month.

As always, I want to thank the loyal HorseCenter audience for watching the show.
