HorseCenter: Cigar Mile and Remsen Stakes top picks

This week on HorseCenter, Brian Zipse and Matt Shifman handicap and offer top picks for the Grade 1 Cigar Mile headlined by Zandon, as well as the Remsen Stakes (G2) featuring 2023 Kentucky Derby hopefuls.

The Cigar Mile shapes up as a battle between a pair of 3-year-olds and older males. Zandon and White Abarrio are both Grade 1 winners from the Kentucky Derby trail. The 6-year-old Mind Control is making the final start of his career, which includes 11 victories with seven in graded stakes.

The Remsen Stakes features Tuskegee Airmen, who won both of his starts for Kentucky Derby-winning trainer John Servis and will ship to Aqueduct from Parx. He will have to contend with the New York based horses that have the home track advantage.

Saturday’s card at Aqueduct features four graded stakes, including New York's last Grade 1 of the year. Enjoy the excellent day of racing and, as always, thanks for watching the show.
