Saratoga Springs, N.Y.

This week on HorseCenterBrian Zipse and Matt Shifman offer an early preview of the 2024 Travers Stakes led by Thorpedo Anna, Dornoch, Fierceness and Sierra Leone. Your hosts also analyze recent results from this champion-making race.

Arcangelo, Epicenter and Essential Quality, the winners of the Travers from the last three years, went on to become champions. With the filly Thorpedo Anna set to take on the leaders of the male 3-year-old division, championship implications double in the Travers this year.

Thorpedo Anna
has clinched the title as the best 3-year-old filly, and Dornoch is the current leader of the 3-year-old male division. With his victory in the Jim Dandy (G2), Fierceness once again became one of the top horses in the division. Those three are likely to contend for favoritism in the midsummer derby on Aug. 24.

Matt and Brian will continue their coverage of the most important races in the country on HorseCenter. As always, thanks for watching the show.
