Rags Racing Stable LLC’s Sarah Sis had been in the middle of the longest losing streak of her career, that streak ended today with a wire to wire score in the Grade 3 Chicago Handicap at seven furlongs for older fillies and mares at Arlington Park.

Sarah Sis is no stranger to Arlington as she finished second in the Arlington-Washington Lassie Stakes as a two-year-old in 2014 over the polytrack. The four-year-old daughter of Sharp Humor broke best of the nine who went to post, and went straight to the lead. Breaking second best was Kathballu who promptly took up the chase tracking the leader in second. These two then proceeded to set fractions of 23.55 and 46.92 and headed in the stretch a half-length apart but Sarah Sis held firm, and pulled clear to win by a length. You Bought Her closed from seventh to finish a clear third, a length and a half behind Kathballu.

In winning her first race since last October, Sarah Sis, trained by Ingrid Mason, won her fourth graded stakes race and now sports a record of 18-7-4-0 with earnings now at $662,500. Sent off as the 9-5 favorite, Sarah Sis returned $5.60, $3.60, and $2.60. Kathballu brought $5.60 and $4, while You Bought Her returned $3.40.

After the race trainer Ingrid Mason indicated that getting a Grade 1 win under their belt is a top priority saying, "She likes Keeneland a lot, and also I think she likes Saratoga as well. We're going to try to get a grade I this year."

Sarah Sis was a $20,000 purchase from the Ocala Breeders' Sales Company's June 2014 2-year-olds and horses of racing age sale. The Chicago Handicap has been won by past greats such as Safely Kept (1991) and Meafara (1993).
