$250,000 game continues to create a stir
For the past few weeks, players have been earning berths into the October $250K game on DerbyWars with top finishes in cash games.
On Memorial Day, players final got an opportunity to earn $250K chips in an exclusive qualifier.

In the days leading up to the $250K qualifier, there were feeders into the final round which was limited to 36 competitors and had a buy-in of $135.
Monday’s $250K qualifier was a blanket finish with Jim T. (Taytay) prevailing with a total of $92 over (tipster369) who posted a final total of $83.80.

Brett Wiener (bwiener), who won multiple tournaments on Memorial Day, narrowly missed out on another holiday accomplishment by 60 cents. Although, the veteran handicapper has already earned an entry into the contest.

“Anything big like that, especially online, is a beast worth slaying,” said Anthony Trezza (youare2020), who has already earned one entry by winning a $25K game a few weeks back.

It is no surpise that Trezza, who typically shoots for playing multiple entries in big cash games on DerbyWars, has a personal goal of winning a second entry into the game over the next few months.

“It won’t be too long before we have our first millionaire online contest and you can bet I will be gunning for that,” Trezza added.

Joe Koury (JoeK) has already earned two entries into the $250K game.
The buzz will continue over the summer months as players take aim on the two-day game that has a limit of only 130 players.

Currently, the prize distribution is slated to pay $80,000 for first place, $40,000 for second place, $25,000 for third place, all the way down the list to $3,000 for 20th place.  NHC seats may also be awarded for top tier finishers, but currently aren’t factored into the prize pool.

“This is the biggest online cash game of all-time,” Koury said.
