Trainer Todd Pletcher, we learned last week, has Audible out of training until near the end of the year. That doesn't mean he'll be without interests in some of the summer's top 3-year-old features.
According to New York Racing Association publicity, Vino Rosso will breeze Friday or Saturday before shipping to Saratoga. The Curlin colt is possible to run July 28 in the Grade 2 Jim Dandy, a race for which Audible was previously considered.
Last out, Vino Rosso ranged up near Justify through the far turn in the Belmont Stakes before going on to finish fourth. The colt was also well regarded for the Kentucky Derby but ended up with mud in his eyes and closed to ninth.
Pletcher has Noble Indy, who was 17th in the Derby and 10th in the Belmont, ticketed for Saturday's Grade 3, $300,000 Dwyer on Belmont Park's loaded Stars & Stripes card. The Dwyer is also expected to mark Firenze Fire's first start since the Derby.
Earlier this spring, Vino Rosso (Wood Memorial) and Noble Indy (Louisiana Derby) earned their respective trips to Churchill Downs by scoring in Grade 2 company on the Kentucky Derby trail.
