Running With Super Saturday!
Mucho Macho Man! Who wants some Mucho Macho Man? How awesome was that race? The monstrous son of Macho Uno earned his first grade on in dominating fashion, proving that more than one horse can dominate what the West has to offer. Paynter after a trouble trip finished a courageous second. Watch out for these two if they decide to go to the Classic...
What a day. So many great races it's hard to choose who was the best. But if one held a gun to my head, I'd have to say Princess of Sylmar. What a filly, to beat her elder, Royal Delta, who is a two time champion. A close second was Ron the Greek, who blew away the competion, in the Jockey Club Gold Cup.
Bond Hold, with the same connnections as 2012 Derby winner I'll Have Another, takes the Frontrunner in the a surging finish. Still no decisive leader in this division, in the West, leaving things wide open for either Honor Code or Strong Mandate, should either win the Champagne.
Tiz Flirtatious in a three horse thriller, with Marketing Mix just a nose back in secont. What a scintillating turn of foot. Earlier on, I said Laughing could make it pretty hard for anyone to take the Championship from her...these two could do just that. Prepare for a knock down drag out, slug fest in the Breeders Cup Filly & Mare Turf.
Secret Compass gets there by a nose over She's a Tiger. Fascinating was as fast closing third. Throws the Juvenile filly division into some disarray in California. She's a Tiger looking like she should probably go to the Juvenile Sprint.
RON THE GREEK IS BACK! Palace Malice ran a great race in defeat. He is now king of the three year olds. Ron the Greek ran huge, going back to his Sunshines Millions form. The race shakes up the older male division of the East even more so, as Cross Traffic walked out of the gate, Alpha faded, and Flat Out was well beaten by 3 yr old Palace Malice. On the flip side, Palace Malice takes a short lead in his own divsion, beating Orb, and performing admirably against his elders.
Little Mike, Real Solution, Big Blue Kitten surging on the rail!!! Little Mike still has the lead, Big Blue Kitting coming through with one final rush, and it's Little Mike by a nostirl. Little Mike did most of the dirty work, so take nothing away from that win, but wow what a run by Big Blue Kitten, who had a horrible trip. Had to squeeze through two tiring horses, then squeeze between the rail and Little Mike, as stablemate Real Solution had clear sailing. The top three ran their hearts out, while running lights out, running the 12 furlongs in 2.25 flat. Amazing.
Lauging makes it four in a row with stablemate Tannery a close second. Somali Lemonade a courageous third. Lauging is making a very good case for herself, as champion turf female. Now, onto the Joe Hirsch, and Real Solution and Big Blue Kitten....
Private Zone and Justin Phillip in a nip-tuck, nail-biting finish. The fractions were sizzling from start to finish, Private Zone had every reason to fold, but instead he rerallied against a dead game Justin Phillip. 1.08 flat....but up goes the inquiry sign....does he stay up after his courageous effort?

Graydar tough as nails down the stretch. Fast time, solid fractions. Todd Pletcher is just lighting up the card. First Misconnect, then Princess of Sylmar, now Graydar. Coming back, the big grey doesn't even look tired. He'll be a tough customer in the Breeders Cup dirt Mile.
Graydar has the talent, the speed and the heart, but is that enough to overcome a five month layoff? Jackson Bend looks like he's coming back into form, and we all know that he is not one to underestimate when he's on his game. For the post parade, Graydar is certainly looking sharp. Souper Speedy, might try to take them wire to wire, but does he have the class of Graydar and Jackson Bend....We shall soon see.
Princess of SYLMAR!!!!!! Am i glad to be wrong, wow, wow, wow. This is the best three year old filly since Rachel Alexandra, hands down. Princess of Sylmar is Champion three yar old filly hands down, after this performance. She eye balled a monster, a two-time champion, a two time Breeders Cup champion, and put her away. Simply awesome. Congrats to Todd Pletcher and to Will Hooks!
Speed is holding as they finish up with the fourth at Belmont. Now on to the Beldame, to kick off Super Saturday! With the way this track is playing, I'm thinking Royal Delta breaks on the lead or close and doesn't look back. Princess of Sylmar should be a fast closing second. Lets get ready to RUMMMBBBLLLEEEE!!!
Misconnect breaks his maiden, second asking, at Belmont park. The final time a snappy 1.22.65. He flattered first out winner Honor Code with this win, who will be running in the Champagne Stakes, next week. The first two as the gates opened were the first two to cross the wire. Could be something of note in future sprint races, like the Vosburgh and Kelso, today.
1:08pm
Iron Power wins the opener at Belmont in front running fashion, in 1.20 and change. Turf course is FAST!!! May not be to the best interest of Real Solution or Big Blue Kitten, later on today, but keep in mind that is 12 furlongs, and not seven.
