She’s All In Sails Away in the Sixty Sails Handicap!

Coming off of a second place finish in the Azeri, She’s All In 'sails' away by 8 lengths to win the return of the Grade 3 Sixty Sails Handicap today at Hawthorne Race Course!

The first half of the race was very stretched out as Todd Pletcher’s entry Love and Pride set a speedy early pace and took a clear lead through half of the race, setting early fractions of 23.3 and 48 flat. Beloveda held second about 5 lengths from the lead while the winner She’s All In was 6-7 lengths behind her and seemed to not be expanding any energy at all! 6-5 post time favorite Arena Alvira was fourth early, 5 more lengths off of the lead, which was not her usual running style as she is more accustomed to being closer to the lead.
Once the horses started their way around the turn, Love and Pride started to fade as the cavalry started to charge for home. She’s All In made a huge move around the turn swinging three wide almost effortlessly. Starting at the top of the stretch jockey Luis Quinonez shook the reins and with a few taps of the crop she took off like a jet and never looked back winning by at least 8 lengths, paying $12.80 to win. Longest shot on the board (35-1) and artist extraordinaire Marcy Leonard’s pick Distorted Love rallied up for second passing tiring horses in the long Hawthorne stretch, paying $22.40 to place. Favorite Arena Alvira, my choice for this race, finished a distant third.
She’s All In made it look very easy today. Jockey Luis Quinonez told Hawthorne Assistant General Manager Jim Miller that the horse wasn’t even breathing that hard. Guess we’ll have to watch this one next time out! I’d also put Distorted Love on that list as well as she ran huge down the lane as well.
