Early Bird Gets the Rainbow 6

For those that say football is a game of inches, they need to watch the Sunday finale from Gulfstream Park. At the top of the stretch, Callana took the lead in the 1 1/16 miles turf event for maidens, but looked as she would be swallowed up in the final strides when confronted on both sides by Russian Night (#11) and Starship Sassy (#7). Callana dug deep and held on for a nose victory under jockey Ramsey Zimmerman.

That nose difference rewarded one lucky gambler (or group) with the lone ticket in the Rainbow 6 jackpot a $6,678,939.12 payout. According to Mike Welsch of the Daily Racing Form, the owner of the winning ticket was Daniel Borislow, creator of Magic Jack and owner of stakes winners Talk Is Money and Toccet.  The ticket cost $7.603.20 and was purchased at Palm Beach Kennel Club. The layout of the ticket was All/All/All/1,4/All/All The proof can be seen below.

The winning sequence was comprised of Bagration ($35.80), Cajun Breeze ($22.60), Little Bart ($12.60), Signofaffection ($10.40), Cajun Sunrise ($9.60) and Callana ($12.80)

Though a little anticlimactic, Gulfstream Park will still offer a mandatory payout in the Rainbow 6 tomorrow, and there is a carryover in the Pick 5 of $44,012. The 5th race Monday kicks off the Rainbow 6 and is set to run at 4:05 EST with the pick 5 consisting of races 6 through 10.
