No. 1 Wadsworth (7-2) was my value top choice in the Grade 3 Jeff Ruby Steaks on March 25 and he chased the pace and ended up an OK fourth behind subsequent Derby runner-up Two Phil’s. The versatile gelding goes back on Lasix, and Brad Cox is strong with the blinkers-off move. He reconnects with Florent Geroux, and this is his first turf attempt.
No. 5 Dude N Colorado (9-5) should make his presence felt from the outset for the productive Irad Ortiz Jr. and Todd Pletcher team. He won the Colonel Liam Stakes at this distance on turf at Gulfstream on March 4.
No. 7 Worthington (10-1) returns to turf, and this is his preferred surface. Luis Saez hops back aboard, and he guided this one to victory in a flat-mile turf race at Churchill last fall.
No. 9 Ocean Pointe (6-1) has been in good form since graduating in a maiden claimer on Feb. 3. The gelded son of Kitten’s Joy is probably best on all-weather ground but did run a quality race in a turf route last time.
