No. 6 Swore (5-1) gets back on turf for Graham Motion in his third start after a layoff. He graduated in a turf marathon at Kentucky Downs in September.
No. 2 Utah Beach (8-1) was part of the exacta in all five career starts. He handled 1 1/4 miles in each of his last two all-weather starts at Turfway Park.
No. 3 Meyer (15-1) threw in a below-par effort as my top choice in a similar local turf route Jan. 31. He enjoys this distance and might bounce back at square odds.
No. 7 Harry Hood (6-1) should be forwardly placed in a race with a murky pace scenario. He improved his speed ratings in his last two local turf routes.
No. 8 Henley’s Joy (2-1) stalked and smartly scored by 2 1/2 lengths at 5-1 odds Jan. 31, and Saffie Joseph Jr. claimed him that day. He is a logical contender if able to run two alike, but he won’t offer much value. He has not had any success at 1 1/2 miles.
