Wednesday’s fifth race at Turfway Park is an optional-claiming event for fillies and mares dashing 6 1/2 furlongs on the all-weather track. The scheduled post time is 7:55 p.m. EST.

No. 10 Lamasco (8-1) raced evenly from an outer post in a local route on Dec. 20, and the top two finishers were both next-out winners. She can sprint and should be forwardly placed at playable odds.

No. 1 Victorious (9-5) dueled and weakened as the beaten favorite in her 7 1/2-furlong debut on fast dirt at Churchill Downs. She was the favorite again in a local dirt sprint on Jan. 4, and she dueled and edged away to score by 2 1/4 lengths. She should be all over the pace from the inside post.

No. 8 Bel Aria (9-2) rallied to win a local restricted claiming race last last year and was a clear show finisher at 30-1 odds in an entry-level allowance event on Jan. 10. She can maintain sharp form in her third start after a layoff.

No. 12 Buyback (5-1) is a California shipper exiting a win in a flat-mile route at Golden Gate. William Morey is her new trainer, and Gerardo Corrales wins races with this barn. She ran well in both of her starts at this distance, and an outside stalking trip is expected.
