No. 4 Kavod (5-2) was on the Kentucky Derby trail earlier this year, but the longer distances tripped him up. He turned back and dropped in class Aug. 26 and dueled from the inside post in a solid runner-up effort. He puts blinkers back on and should attend the pace in his second start after a layoff.
No. 8 Hoist the Gold (2-1) does some of his best work at this distance and should work out a decent tactical trip. He owns competitive speed ratings.
No. 7 Tejano Twist (5-2) is down in class and back in a preferred dirt sprint. His lack of speed is a concern.
No. 6 Burninhunkoflove (10-1) ran well in both local starts at this distance. The fresh colt goes back on Lasix and figures to chase the pace.
