#9 EMBOLDEN (10-1) turns back from a pair of flat mile turf stakes events in his third start after a layoff. Both of his wins last year were in turf sprints and he battled on the pace in both of those races. Michael Stidham’s colt is consistent and versatile and looks live at square odds.

#13 Competitive Saint (8-1) lost for the first time in three outings in a solid runner-up finish in the Mahony Stakes Aug. 26. He projects an outside stalking trip.

#10 Another Miracle (10-1) had a decent juvenile campaign last year and added blinkers and got back on the beam in the My Frenchman Stakes at Monmouth Park July 12. He is sharp enough to threaten these.

#1 Turned Aside (3-1) is a consistent early-pressing turf sprinter for Linda Rice. This is his first start outside of New York.

#4 Flap Jack (20-1) has tactical speed and might be good enough to land a share for profitable graded stakes trainer Jack Sisterson. I would like to try to get him to finish somewhere underneath in the exotics.
