Wednesday's Best Bet: Diamond Solitaire excels in Indiana First Lady

Wednesday’s 8th race from Indiana Grand is the $150,000 Indiana First Lady Stakes for Indiana-bred three-year-old fillies traveling a mile and seventy yards on the main track (Post Time 6:02 p.m. ET).

#1 DIAMOND SOLITAIRE (9-2) is back on dirt and should save all the ground behind the early runners. She was no match for Pearl Tiara June 23 but was miles clear of the show finisher that day. She likes the local main track and is very dangerous if the pace heats up. 

#6 Russian Influence (3-1) won two of her three local starts from off the pace and she really enjoyed stretching out to this distance when last seen November 2020. Her trainer shows a profit with this type of layoff runner and she should get pace to chase. 

#3 Pearl Tiara (5-2) exits back-to-back local wins and she easily handled some of these in a romping dirt route stakes victory June 23. She should be forwardly placed and could easily score again, but the pace will likely be quicker and she won’t be 5-1 this time.
