Wednesday’s seventh race from Evangeline Downs is a $26,000 allowance event for Louisiana-bred fillies and mares who have never won three races. They will be dashing five furlongs on the turf course. (Post time is scheduled for 9:13 p.m. EDT.)

No. 5 Charlie T (5-2) exits a sharp local entry level turf sprint win from the inside post and the clear runner-up was a next-out winner. She projects a stalking trip in her third start after a layoff.

No. 7 Gigablast (2-1) moved to the Bret Calhoun barn and aired in a local dirt sprint May 26. She finished last in her lone turf sprint try against stakes foes March 27, but her dam has produced three turf sprint winners and she probably deserves another shot on grass.

No. 3 Royal O’Haigain (7-2) is a fairly reliable dirt sprinter trying turf for the first time. The early-pressing type should impact the pace if she handles the surface switch.

No. 6 Flashy Meg (4-1) was a clear show finisher in the mud June 16, and that race originally was scheduled for turf. She finished in the top three in all seven dirt sprints and should attend the pace.

Wagers:

No. 5 to win
