Wednesday’s seventh race at Turfway Park is an optional-claiming event for fillies and mares dashing six furlongs on the all-weather track. The scheduled post time is 8:55 p.m. EDT.

No. 4 Abitibi (8-1) stalked the pace and romped in a local claiming sprint on Feb. 21, and she dueled and faded from the inside post on March 9. She can bounce back at a price.

No. 9 Ruthless Rua (6-1) missed by a head from the outside post in a similar local sprint on Jan. 24, and she regressed from an inner post on Feb. 21. She might rebound at a hint of a price in her third start after a layoff.

No. 8 Atlantic Strike (6-1) dropped into a local claiming sprint, put blinkers back on and scored by a length and a quarter on Feb. 17. Steve Asmussen is her new trainer, and she should make her presence felt from the outset under her winning rider Luan Machado.

No. 3 Mystic Pleasure (7-2) rallied for the place in her local debut, then stalked and graduated as the favorite second time out. Rodolphe Brisset is her new trainer, and he shows a profit with layoff runners. She drilled a local bullet for this on March 6.

No. 10 Protomagic (4-1) rallied to win her last four all-weather sprints as the betting favorite at Turfway. She must be respected in her current form.
