Tuesday's Best Bet: Skywire can rebound Prince of Wales

Tuesday’s eighth race from Fort Erie is the $400,000 Prince of Wales Stakes for 3-year-olds (foaled in Canada) traveling a mile and three-sixteenths on the main track (Post Time 7:36 p.m. ET).

#5 SKYWIRE (3-1) had an uncomfortable trip from an outer post as the beaten favorite in the Queen’s Plate, and I will draw a line through that race. He was right there in four of his other five starts, and I expect him to attend slow fractions today. He raced on dirt once at Gulfstream, and he dusted optional claimers on a wet track that day. Mark Casse has won this race four times.  

#1 One Bad Boy (7-5) was able to get out there and control the pace in the Queen’s Plate, and he might do the same thing in this spot. He handles any footing but is 0-for-2 on dirt. 

#2 Avie’s Flatter (5-2) chased One Bad Boy from post 14 and could not get past that one in the Queen’s Plate. My top choice might be in the garden spot if this one duels with the chalk today. 

#3 Tone Broke (5-1) stalked from post 11 and was best of the rest in 3rd in the Queen’s Plate. He removes blinkers and is stakes-placed on dirt.

#4 He’s a Macho Man (8-1) rounds out the compact field. He adds lasix and will try to get involved late.
