Tuesday's Best Bet: Procrastination is in a rush at Ellis Park
Tuesday’s eighth race at Ellis Park is a $74,000 allowance event for 3-year-old fillies who have not won two races. They will dash six furlongs on the main track. The scheduled post time is 4:22 p.m. EDT.

No. 7 Procrastination (7-2) easily wired the field in her dirt sprint bow last summer, and she set the pace and was second best in the Sorrento Stakes second time out. She needed her dirt sprint return in February, and she competed in turf sprints in her last three starts. She ran well without winning in those turf sprints. Look for aggressive handling in this dirt sprint.
No. 4 American Retro (8-5) was competitive throughout in all three extended sprints in the special-weight ranks. She dueled in her bow, stalked second time out and controlled the pace in her first win last time. I expect her to chase the pace in this spot.
No. 2 Yes Day (5-1) earned an improved speed rating in a head defeat in a local sprint on July 7. She projects a decent stalking trip and might land a piece of the purse.
