Tuesday's Best Bet: Misty Day the clear choice in Orleans Stakes
Tuesday’s 8th race from Delta Downs is the Orleans Stakes for fillies and mares dashing five furlongs on the main track (Post Time 5:07 p.m. ET).
#2 MISTY DAY (9-2) is on a roll for sharp conditioner Victor Arceneaux. She cruised from off the pace in her last three starts including a 5-1/4 length romp in her first start in more than three months at this course/distance Dec. 1. She earned improved pace ratings last time and the improving 4-year-old filly can stalk and score again.
#1 Mucho Amor (7-2) moved to the Grant Forster barn and scored in a dirt sprint in Ohio Oct. 23, and had a wide trip from the outside post in the Pan Zareta Stakes on turf at Fair Grounds last time. I like the improved early speed in the Mahoning Valley win in the fall, and she seems to fit with this group.
#9 Our Lost Love (2-1) is a 6-for-12 Louisiana-bred stakes winner with speed. The sharp filly won the Take Charge Brandi Stakes at Delta Downs last year.
#6 Pretty Britches (8-1) exits a romping $10k claiming dirt sprint win at Remington Park, and the distant runner-up was a next-out winner. Karl Broberg reclaimed her that day and she should attend the pace.
#3 Dejoke’s Song (6-1) easily went all the way in both starts. She missed all of 2020 and this is her first start in more than a year. She should be on the engine early.
