No. 5 GLADYS (9-2) might be the right one. She cut back from a marathon and rallied nicely in a slow early/fast late optional claiming victory at Churchill May 19. Her other win this year also featured a slow early/fast late race shape, and this event figures to be run the same way. Daniel Centeno put her on the lead both times he rode her at Tampa Bay earlier this year, and she might be the one to catch.
No. 2 Deciding Vote (5-1) is a sharp Maryland shipper. She captured three of her last four starts including the Dahlia Stakes in her first start of the year April 23. She packs a decent late kick.
No. 4 Tightly Twisted (8-1) makes her first start in more than seven months for a quality low profile barn. She stalked and scored in a pair of turf routes last year including a stakes victory at Pimlico.
No. 7 High Opinion (2-1) is 2-for-12 overall and 0-for-4 with four underneath finishes at this distance on turf. Flavien Prat takes the call and I like her running style versatility, but I am not thrilled with her late pace ratings in turf routes. The morning line favorite might be best used underneath.
#1 B B’s Busted (8-1), #3 Out of Sorts (10-1), and #9 Wicked Groove (6-1) have shown enough in turf routes to be considered in trifecta and superfecta wagers.
