Tuesday's Best Bet: Firecrow burns up the track in Parx Dash
Tuesday’s 9th race from Parx Racing is the Grade 3 Parx Dash for three-year-olds and up dashing five furlongs on the turf course (Post Time 4:39 p.m. ET).
#4 FIRECROW (6-1) chased the pace from the outside post and upset The Critical Way in the Jim McKay Turf Sprint at Pimlico May 15. His winning rider Joel Rosario stays put and he should make his presence felt throughout.
#5 Francatelli (4-1) is a consistent four-year-old gelding with a trio of underneath finishes from as many turf sprint stakes tries this year. Just Might edged him in the Da Hoss last time, and that one came back to click again in the Chesapeake Stakes. He is one of several with early speed, and that is par for the course in these turf sprints with large fields.
#6 The Critical Way (8-5) fired trifecta shots in his last nine starts and he won his last two turf sprint stakes events. His early-pressing versatility should serve him well and he is a solid win contender at low odds.
#7 So Street (8-1) has done enough sprinting on turf to be considered a trifecta threat. He landed the place in a trio of stakes races last year but failed to crack the top three in five outings this season. He should get pace to chase and might be along for a share.
