No. 5 Bourbon Music (5-1) easily won a dirt sprint at Penn National on Sept. 21, and that was his first start since running last in this race last fall. He is stabled at Parx and drilled a bullet for this on Oct. 17.

No. 6 Jean Valjean (6-1) won all three dirt sprints this year at shorter distances. The sharp gelding still has upside and might be the one to catch.

No. 2 Beren (7-2) fits with these on his best day, but he was sharper earlier this year. He easily went all the way in this race last year.

No. 12 One More Scoop (6-1) rallied to win a local allowance event at seven panels earlier this year. He struck twice at Penn National in August, including a nice score in the Fabulous Strike. His last race in the slop can probably be forgiven.

No. 7 Keithsendshelloooo (8-1) turns back in distance and switches surfaces. The reliable gelding enjoys picking up minor awards.

No. 4 Smooth B (6-1) is a hard-hitting veteran campaigner, and he still enjoys his job. He does not win often anymore but frequently hits the board. He landed the show in this event last fall.
