#1 STANDARD DEVIATION (4-1) ran well in five of his six turf routes. Chad Brown thought he might be a Belmont Stakes-type when he trained this one, and he might end up being a decent turf marathon runner. He moved to the Graham Motion barn and finished a fine 2nd in a group one in Doha, Qatar Feb. 22, and John Velazquez has been winning races with the barn recently.
#3 Corelli (10-1) makes his stateside bow for quality trainer Jonathan Thomas. He could run all day in Great Britain and might fit with these.
#8 Sadler’s Joy (5-2) is a classy seven-year-old horse with more than $2.5 million in career earnings. He should be running late and is certainly capable of winning this.
#5 Dot Matrix (10-1) blew the break in the Muniz (G2) last time. He won a grade three marathon in Texas Jan. 26, and he finished in the top three in multiple local turf routes. Joel Rosario rides and he can stalk or close.
