No. 5 Private Creed (4-1) stalked and scored in his turf sprint debut at Ellis Park, and exits an even show finish in the Skidmore Stakes at Saratoga. He adds blinkers and might work out the right tactical trip behind the speed. Joel Rosario wins races with Steve Amsussen and he might offer a hint of value.
No. 3 Bourbon Spirit (6-1) stalked the pace and easily captured his Ellis Park debut in the mud July 16, and he battled on the pace and held the place behind runaway winner Lost Ark in the Sapling Stakes at one mile on dirt last time. He turns back and tries turf, and he will probably revert to stalking tactics.
No. 8 Half a Chance (9-2) drew outside the other speed. Wesley Ward’s filly set the pace and was clearly second best in her turf sprint bow at Belmont Park, and switched to dirt and wired the field at Saratoga second time out.
No. 2 Sharp Aza Tack (7-5) smartly went all the way in both turf sprints and earned an improved speed rating in a romping win in the Tyro Stakes at Monmouth Park last time. He is probably the speed of the speed but must navigate a longer distance at underlaid odds.
