Thursday's Best Bet: Noble Pursuit tracks the leaders in Brooks Fields
Thursday’s 4th race from Canterbury Park is the Brooks Fields Stakes for three-year-olds and up traveling one mile on the turf course (Post Time 7:12 p.m. ET).
#3 NOBLE PURSUIT (5-1) moved to the Robertino Diodoro barn and rattled off five straight wins this year at Turf Paradise. His last four victories were on turf including back-to-back minor stakes wins. He is sharp and versatile, and his speed ratings continue to climb.
#7 Two Emmys (9-5) set the pace and was second best behind Colonel Liam in the Muniz Memorial Classic (G2) March 20. The fresh gelding is comfortable stalking the pace as well and will probably chase and pounce from the outside post under Alonso Quinonez.
#1 Hieronymus (5-2) is an all or nothing front runner for Brad Cox. He almost has to send from the rail under Ry Eikleberry, and he is dangerous when he takes control early.
#2 Giant Payday (12-1) won this race last year and usually gives an honest effort at this course and distance. The patient runner might need his first outing in more than eight months.
