No. 8 Mount Craig (9-2) grabbed show dough as a long shot in his dirt sprint debut at Belmont Park in June, and the top two finishers were both next-out winners. Bill Mott’s $300k Arrogate colt should enjoy the added ground of this race. He has been stabled locally since September, and his recent works are solid.
No. 12 Cawkab (5-1) is a first timer for Brad Cox, and the owners paid half a million for the Curlin colt. Dam has produced four stakes winners from five starters.
No. 11 York Tavern (6-1) improved his speed ratings in all three starts. He showed nice late interest in a show finish at this distance last time, and the runner-up won his next start.
No. 4 Electromagnetic (6-1) split a 10-horse field in his even local debut at this distance, and that is the same race York Tavern exits. Todd Pletcher’s colt adds blinkers, and his new pilot Luis Saez wins races with this outfit.
