No. 9 Loco Abarrio (9-2) exits a fast, local dirt-sprint win, and he completed the exacta in all three sprint attempts on synthetic. Thursday’s rider Irad Ortiz Jr. booted him home in a dirt sprint in March.
No. 1 Extendo (5-2) set the pace and held the place as a 19-1 outsider in the Janus Stakes on turf last time. He does his best work in local all-weather sprints and should attend the pace from the inside post.
No. 6 Old Chestnut (6-1) landed the show in a pair of all-weather stakes races at Woodbine last year. He projects a stalking trip under his new rider Tyler Gaffalione.
No. 8 Mamba On Three (4-1) always is part of the trifecta on synthetic ground. The reliable gelding was nabbed out of his last start for $50,000 by Fernando Abreu.
