Thursday's Best Bet: Foolish Ghost scares rivals at Aqueduct
Thursday’s eighth race from Aqueduct is an optional claiming event for New York-bred for 3-year-olds and up dashing six furlongs on the main track. The scheduled post time is 3:43 p.m. EST.

No. 3 Foolish Ghost (5-1) was nabbed out of his last start by Linda Rice, and she has good stats first after the claim. The veteran gelding has good overall stats at this distance and might be the one to catch. Kendrick Carmouche has been winning races with this outfit.
No. 4 Unique Unions (3-1) stalked outside, led and weakened late in a similar local sprint on Sept. 23. He gets in light with apprentice rider Jose Gomez, and he should make his presence felt throughout.
No. 8 Advanced Strategy (4-1) has been competing in turf routes since March 2021. He was part of the trifecta in all five dirt attempts and should be finishing under Irad Ortiz Jr.
No. 7 Sheriff Bianco (5-2) exits a romping score in the slop, and that race originally was scheduled for turf. This is a better field, and I am not sure he can duplicate his last on fast dirt.
No. 1 Quick Return (9-2) exits a local $20k sprint win, and Bruce Levine claimed him that day. He was earning better speed ratings at Saratoga this summer.
