Thursday's Best Bet: Disc Jockey swings into action at Gulfstream
Thursday’s 8th race from Gulfstream Park is an optional claiming event for four-year-olds and up traveling one mile on the main track (Post Time 4:11 p.m. EST).
No. 3 DISC JOCKEY (7-2) ran well in all three outings and earned quality speed ratings in his last pair. This is his first outing since February 2020 and he fired a half-mile bullet workout for this engagement last weekend. He won his career debut and returned almost four months later to score again second time out.
No. 7 Drive for Fun (9-2) showed marked improvement in his maiden win at this distance under the Twin Spires Nov. 24, and the show finisher was a next-out winner. He should be forwardly placed.
No. 5 Tapit To the Wire (3-1) easily disposed of three rivals from the inside post in his local six panel debut last fall. The fresh gelding will probably attend the pace.
No. 2 Amount (5-1) smartly graduated at first asking in his local extended sprint debut, and he went off form in his next two outings. This is his first start in more than ten months, and this is also his first start as a gelding.
