Sunday's Best Bet: Uno the right one in Great White Way
Sunday’s 8th race from Aqueduct is the $250,000 New York Stallion Series Stakes Great White Way Division for 2-year-olds traveling seven furlongs on the main track (Post Time - 3:45 p.m. ET).
#11 UNO (5-2) stalked from the outside post and pulled well clear in his local six furlong dash in the mud Nov. 12. Todd Pletcher and company paid $255k for the son of Laoban and he should be in for another comfortable outside stalking trip. Jose Ortiz rides back and barn has strong stats with recent graduates trying winners for the first time.
#8 Hold the Salsa (6-1) stalked below par fractions in a state bred stakes victory at this distance at Belmont Park Oct. 2. He stretched out to one mile and ended up a non-threatening 4th in the Sleepy Hollow Oct. 24, and winner Brooklyn Strong and runner-up Eagle Orb both returned to capture stakes races. He should get pace to chase.
#7 Dreamer’s Disease (8-5) battled through above par fractions before weakening to 6th place as a 41-1 outsider in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1) Nov. 6. He controlled the pace in both of his flat mile wins and might get caught up in a speed duel at this shorter trip.
