No. 2 Under the Stars (5-2) is fairly consistent as long as she breaks from the gate. She stumbled badly in the Santa Anita Oaks and threw her head in the Torrey Pines and was up the track in those two races. She fired trifecta shots in her other six starts and captured two local graded stakes earlier this year.

No. 1 Teddy’s Barino (5-2) captured her last four starts, and she can sprint or route on turf and dirt. The versatile filly turns back and should save ground stalking the pace.

No. 3 Ce Ce (3-5) is the proven class for Michael McCarthy. The multiple graded-stakes winner ended 2021 with a victory in the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Sprint and captured a pair of graded stakes races this year. She likes this course and distance, but her recent form is a bit suspect after an up-the-track finish as the beaten favorite in the Ballerina (G1). She ran much better in the 2021 Ballerina and followed that up with an easy win in this event.
