#3 SPINOFF (5-2) stretches back out and his tactical speed should play well in this race. His dirt route form from a mile and forty yards to a mile and an eighth is very solid. He was 2nd in the Louisiana Derby (G2) last year, and dusted optional claimers twice. Irad Ortiz Jr. got to know him in an even 4th place finish at seven panels April 25.

#1 Wind of Change (9-2) added blinkers, opened up a clear early lead, and held off next-out stakes winner Network Effect at one mile March 28. He sure looks like the one to catch from the rail, and he might handle this distance if he is able to get out there and dictate terms.

#5 Phat Man (3-1) fired from off the pace in his last three local graded attempts. He is 0-for-2 at this distance and might not get enough pace help, but he is probably good for a share if he maintains form.

#7 You’re To Blame (10-1) went off form last summer and is still off his game. He has lost his tactical speed recently, and I would like to see his new pilot Miguel Vasquez get him in the race early, especially in a race without much zip like this event.
