Sunday's Best Bet: Sleek Lynx can graduate in Natalma Stakes

Sunday’s 9th race from Woodbine is the Grade 1 Natalma Stakes for 2-year-old fillies traveling one mile on the turf course (Post Time - 5:35 p.m. ET).

#3 SLEEK LYNX (8-1) is an interesting second time out maiden for Mark Casse. The $335,000 purchase made a wide run for the lead before lugging in and missing by a 1/2 length as the strong favorite in her flat mile turf bow at Gulfstream Park July 23, and the top two finishers were more than seven lengths ahead of the show finisher. Rafael Hernandez wins races with this barn and he chose this one over #4 Dreaming of Drew (2-1). The latter missed by a nose as the chalk in the Catch a Glimpse Stakes Aug. 23.

#6 Lady Speightsphere (9-2) controlled the pace in her sharp seven panel turf debut Aug. 22. She fired a local turf bullet for this Sept. 13 and should make her presence felt throughout in a race without much early zip. She has some stamina influences on the dam side of her pedigree.

#5 Alda (9-5) is making nice progress for Graham Motion. She rallied from far back to finish 3rd in her turf sprint bow at Belmont Park June 12, and stalked and surged to a nice six panel maiden victory over that same turf course July 9. She shipped to Woodbine and rallied to win the Catch a Glimpse by a nose Aug. 23. She fired a Fair Hill bullet for this Sept. 11 and seems to want more ground.
