Sunday's Best Bet: Pizza Bianca sizzles in Natalma
Sunday’s 8th race from Woodbine is the Grade 1 Natalma for two-year-old fillies traveling one mile on the turf course (Post Time - 5:06 p.m. ET).
#2 PIZZA BIANCA (4-1) ran a quality race in her turf route debut at Saratoga July 22. She went last-to-first from the outside post on a good turf course that day. Her winning rider Joel Rosario stays put, and Christophe Clement’s filly should be heard from in the late stages.
#5 Wild Beauty (5-2) ran well in her last four turf sprints in Great Britain. Frankie Dettori hops aboard and Charles Appleby has had success with shippers to North America.
#10 Eminent Victor (6-1) rallied to win her Arlington Park sprint debut from the outside post on all-weather ground at 39-1 odds July 17. Chad Brown has her now, Flavien Prat takes the call, and she adds blinkers for this. She is a bit interesting but might take more money than she should for quality connections.
#7 Diabolic (3-1) won all three sprint starts for Mark Casse including stakes victories in the My Dear and Catch a Glimpse. She figures to stalk the pace and is a logical win contender once again.
#4 Royal Engagement (8-1) improved her speed ratings in all three sprint starts. She hit the board in her last two local stakes outings and figures to attend the pace.
#8 Mrs. Barbara (15-1) is still a maiden after three starts. She exits a troubled show finish in the Catch a Glimpse and dam has produced four turf winners.
#6 Baksheesh (20-1) moves to the Mark Casse barn following a sharp late running victory in the Muskoka Stakes on all-weather ground. Dam has produced a turf winner and she is bred to go this far.
#1 Ready Lady (10-1) sat a nice trip behind the speed and wore down Guileful in her local extended sprint turf debut. She fired a local turf bullet for this Sept. 11 and all three of dam’s starters scored on turf. She is bred to handle this distance.
#3 Guileful (15-1) switched to turf and ended up a clear 2nd after battling on the pace Aug. 28. She is still a maiden but is getting better and will probably impact the pace.
#9 Cardio Princess (20-1) wired the field in her local turf sprint debut Aug. 22. Mark Casse’s filly will probably attend the pace.
