No. 4 Normandy Hero (5-2) finished in front of Valentine Candy twice in October, and he did not have the best trip when rallying for the show in the Ed Brown Stakes on Nov. 25. He is fast enough to compete with these and should work out a decent stalking trip.
No. 2 Valentine Candy (8-5) pressed outside and romped as the favorite in the local Advent Stakes on Dec. 8. He might get stuck dueling inside this time and won’t offer much value.
No. 6 Tejon Pass (9-2) hooked talented Bob Baffert trainee Nysos in his last start in the Grade 3 Bob Hope, and runner-up Stronghold returned to land the place in the Los Alamitos Futurity (G2). Flavien Prat wins races with Peter Miller, and he will probably chase the pace from an outer post.
No. 3 Booth (3-1) ran Nash off his feet in his winning bow on Oct. 7. That was a fast race, but he failed to deliver as the chalk in the Ed Brown second time out. He probably will show the way early under Stewart Elliott.
