Sunday’s 9th race from Santa Anita Park is the Grade 3 Robert J. Frankel Stakes for fillies and mares traveling a mile and an eighth on the turf course (Post Time 6:51 p.m. ET).

#4 MISS TEHERAN (5-1) probably wants every bit of this nine furlong distance. Joel Rosario hops aboard Chad Brown's Irish-bred filly and she should be grinding away in the lane. This is a very evenly matched group if you can get past morning line favorite #10 Mucho Unusual (5-2). The latter was overmatched in the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf (G1) last time. She won a weak renewal of the Rodeo Drive (G1) before that and fits nicely in this conversation. She likes this turf course and her new rider John Velazquez should have running style options from the outside post.

#9 Zee Drop (8-1) hit the board in her last pair including a runner-up finish in the Goldikova (G2). She reconnects with her winning rider Flavien Prat.

#2 She’s Our Charm (12-1) failed to secure the early lead and was ultimately overmatched in the Matriarch (G1) last time. The flat mile specialist is the main speed in the race and she will take them as far as she can.

How do you know how much to play or which wagers to try? Unfortunately, part of the learning process can include losing money. But we would like to help you shortcut that process by learning some of the most common mistakes that horseplayers make on a daily basis. Take a look at Horse Racing Nation’s newest eBook -- “Top 10 Mistakes Horseplayers Make” -- and see if it helps you avoid some common mistakes and win more playing the races!
