No. 10 Megayacht (6-1) tuned up for this engagement with a nice local optional claiming score at 1 1/8 miles. He won an all-weather marathon at Gulfstream in March and projects a stalking trip under his winning rider Kazushi Kimura.
No. 12 Who’s the Star (5-2) captured four of his last five starts and his last two victories were in the local graded ranks. He won both outings at Woodbine and packs a decent late kick.
No. 4 Angelou (8-1) might try to get out there and control the tempo, and she is clearly on the upswing. She exits a runner-up finish in the Maple Leaf Stakes and romped in her other two local all-weather routes. She landed the place at Saratoga at 1 3/8 miles on turf in July, and that was her longest test to date.
No. 3 Novo Sol (7-2) exits back-to-back stakes placings in all-weather routes, and he landed the show in the Pan American at 1 1/2 miles on turf earlier this year. Patrick Husbands knows him now, and he will probably save ground before rallying in the stretch.
