Sunday's Best Bet: Lloyd's Logic can make progress in Irish Day

Sunday’s eighth race at Emerald Downs is the $50,000 Irish Day Stakes for 3-year-olds dashing 6 1/2 furlongs on the main track. The scheduled post time is 8:19 p.m. EDT.

No. 7 Lloyd’s Logic (3-1) was no match for Clovisconnection in a clear runner-up finish in the Auburn Stakes on June 18. That was his first start since September 2022, and he has every right to move forward in this spot. He drew outside the other speed and might offer a hint of value. 

No. 6 Clovisconnection (6-5) dueled from the inside post and kicked away from Lloyds Logic last time. He owns early-pressing versatility and is a logical win contender at low odds. 

No. 1 Jin Tong (6-1) went last to first in a local allowance victory July 2. He should get pace to chase and might be able to maintain sharp form in his third start after a layoff.
