Sunday's Best Bet: Good Governance has good shot in Bernard Baruch

Sunday’s 9th race from Saratoga is the Grade 2 Bernard Baruch Handicap for 3-year-olds and up traveling a mile and a sixteenth on the inner turf course (Post Time 5:46 p.m. ET).

#2 GOOD GOVERNANCE (9-5) fired in all three turf routes for Chad Brown. He is lightly raced and versatile, and still has upside. He was razor sharp in his Belmont return June 26. There was no pace in that race and he easily rolled home as the strong favorite.

#5 Olimpico (9-2) might make this a Chad Brown exacta. This is his first start in 9+ months and he easily won his US bow after a 6+ month rest.

#1 Seismic Wave (6-1) rallied for the place in the Poker (G3) July 4. He should save all the ground and might be able to land a share. He is most effective at one mile.

#6 Halladay (2-1) was very good this spring at Gulfstream. He might be the one to catch. I am not sure he transfers his form to New York vs. better foes, and he will probably take more money than he should.

#3 Somelikeithotbrown (4-1) is a decent 4yo colt for Mike Maker. The all-weather specialist fired trifecta shots in 5 of 6 turf starts. He should make his presence felt throughout.

#4 Mr Dumas (12-1) looks like a Churchill Downs specialist.
