#2 FRANK’S ROCKETTE (2-1) was razor sharp as the favorite in her romping debut at Churchill Downs June 21. She sure looks like a stakes runner for Bill Mott.

#8 Magic Dance (7-5) is 2-for-2 for Steve Asmussen, and the tactical type drew well for this. She beat SoCal shipper Cholula Lips last time, and that one returned to finish a flat 4th in the CTBA Stakes at Del Mar July 31. Show finisher Lady Glamour won an allowance race at Ellis Park July 26. I think my top choice will love today’s added ground, but I am not so sure about this one, especially at low odds.

#6 Miss Peppina (8-1) rallied to win her 5.5f bow at Belmont, and Gary Gullo excels with his recent grads trying winners for the first time. Joel Rosario rides back, and I bet she likes today’s added ground.

#3 Perfect Alibi (9-2) ran well in both starts for Mark Casse. She is a fresh, tactical threat.
