Sunday’s 9th race from Saratoga is the $120,000 Galway Stakes for three-year-old fillies dashing five and one-half furlongs on the turf course (Post Time 5:39 p.m. ET).

#8 BYE BYE (5-1) stretched out to a flat mile June 26, and she set the pace and weakened to 7th in the Wild Applause Stakes that day. Christophe Clement’s tactical filly is 2-for-2 in turf sprints and she drilled a bullet for this Aug. 6. She should sit a good trip in the clear and a contested pace would help her cause.

#7 Goin’ Good (3-1) is 4-for-7 with a pair of runner-up finishes in her career for Brad Cox. She exits back-to-back wins, handles any footing, and is a solid win contender once again.

#10 Star Devine (6-1) rallied to win her turf sprint debut at Aqueduct, and she dueled and finished a length behind Bye Bye at seven panels second time out. She was an okay 3rd when last seen in a turf route June 17, and she might finish full of run at this abbreviated trip.

#6 Illegal Smile (9-2) dueled and finished a length behind Goin’ Good at this distance on turf at Churchill Downs June 12. She is fresh and versatile, but I am concerned about her 1-for-7 record.

#2 Tuscan Queen (8-1) exits a smart maiden win at this course/distance. I can see her working out a decent ground saving trip behind the speed, and the lightly raced filly has upside.

Wagers:

#8 to win
