Sunday’s eighth race at Santa Anita Park is the $150,000 Snow Chief Stakes for California-bred or sired 3-year-olds traveling 1 1/8 miles on the turf course. The scheduled post time is 7:45 p.m. EDT.

No. 2 Boss Sully (5-2) had the race flow in his favor on April 21 but could not quite hold on. He looked good as the favorite in his maiden turf-sprint win on March 18 and should attend the pace. He removes blinkers and Hector Berrios rides him well, and he might be out there controlling the pace once again.

No. 7 Hacking It Up (2-1) exits a late-running victory in the Silky Sullivan at one mile on turf at Golden Gate. He won his other flat-mile turf start at Santa Anita and should be finishing under his new rider Umberto Rispoli.

No. 1 Old Pal (5-2) had an uncomfortable trip in a rallying runner-up finish in his turf-sprint bow. He stretched out and easily graduated from off the pace second time out and finished an even third in a race that did not set up for him on April 21. He was the favorite in all of his races and might be the chalk again. Juan Hernandez strings along, and he figures to save ground before launching his rally.

No. 3 Clouseau (5-1) captured three of his last four starts on the main track. His last flat-mile win originally was scheduled for turf, and he had Lasix in all three of his victories. No Lasix this time, and he is 0-for-2 on turf.
