#4 BOB AND JACKIE (4-1) is back in a preferred route in his first start since March 13. The early-pressing type removes blinkers, runs well fresh, and attracts Umberto Rispoli. He has struck three times at this course and distance, including a victory in this race last year.

#2 Neptune’s Storm (8-5) chased strong fractions, led, and was run down late in his American (G3) return June 20. The four-time flat mile winner hit the board in all four local starts and should be in the thick of things throughout under Flavien Prat.

#1 Homer Screen (8-1) is a five-for-six import from Brazil. He is working well for his new trainer Neil Drysdale but might need time to acclimate to Southern California.

#6 Border Town (8-1) packs a decent late kick when he has his mind on running. He removes blinkers and Juan Hernandez hops aboard.

Wagers:

#4 to win
