Sunday’s eighth race from Santa Anita Park is the Grade 3 Affirmed Stakes for 3-year-olds traveling a mile and a sixteenth on the main track (Post Time - 8:09 p.m. ET).

#5 ROADSTER (6-5) positioned extremely wide on a wet track in the Kentucky Derby, and you can draw a line through that race. He showed tactical speed and ran well in all four fast track outings in California, and he is faster and classier than these on his best day. He reconnects with winning rider Mike Smith.

#1 Visitant (4-1) ran well in all four Golden Gate starts on all-weather ground. He is interesting if he handles dirt.

#6 Mucho Gusto (2-1) is sharp and likes this oval, but I think it is pretty clear that he is best around one turn. He is 3-for-3 sprinting and 1-for-3 in routes, and that route win was in the slop against four others (stalked below par fractions). He should be in front early, but Roadster almost certainly goes by his stablemate if he runs his race.

Wagers:

Exacta 5-1

Trifecta Key 5/1-6
