No. 3 Warrens Candy Girl (5-1) is 5-for-23 overall. She is 4-for-11 at Del Mar and 1-for-12 at Santa Anita. She won two local turf routes last summer including the Solana Beach. She was second at Santa Anita on March 5 and picked up her first win at that venue on April 22. Last time, she beat one horse in the Fran’s Valentine and has been freshened for profitable short layoff trainer Craig Lewis. Ramon Vazquez is her new pilot and she should be heard from late.

No. 12 Honey Pants (5-1) moved to the Phil D’Amato barn and rallied for the place behind her stablemate Elm Drive in the Mizdirection at 6 1/2 furlongs on turf on May 20. Umberto Rispoli stays put and she tries a route of ground. She is 0-for-3 with a pair of runner-up finishes at this distance.

No. 2 Very Scary (6-1) fits with these but she is going to have to relax behind multiple speed speed horses under her winning pilot Kent Desormeaux. That might be a challenge because she likes to mix it up early. She flopped last time but placed in a pair of graded turf routes earlier this year.

No. 8 Nevisian Sunrise (5-1) is another with speed but she has rated before. She stalked and scored in her maiden win in 2021. She wired the field in her second victory and ran off early and held the place when last seen at Saratoga last summer. Michael McCarthy has her on the West Coast now and Hernandez hops aboard. She drilled a local bullet for this on July 16.
