Saturday's Best Bet: Turnerloose can show more in John Mabee

No. 6 Turnerloose (5-2) was my top choice in the Yellow Ribbon on Aug. 12, but the returnee got rank from an inner post and never looked comfortable. That was her first start for Phil D’Amato and her first outing since October 2022. Antonio Fresu knows her now and she sports a pair of local works since her last. She can move forward and win this, and will probably be on or very near tepid splits if she is more relaxed.
Turnerloose's stablemate No. 3 Oakhurst (4-1) looked good in a last-to-first tally in a local optional-claiming turf affair at this distance on July 23. She might make the last run under Juan Hernandez.
No. 4 Closing Remarks (9-5) sat a great tactical trip from the inside post in a neck victory in the Yellow Ribbon as the favorite on Aug. 12. That was her second graded turf route win this year and Umberto Rispoli seemingly chose her over Oakhurst.
