Saturday's Best Bet: Tracksmith needs the Woodchopper trip

Saturday’s ninth race from Fair Grounds is the $75,000 Woodchopper Stakes for 3-year-olds traveling one mile on the turf course (Post Time 5:22 p.m. ET). It marks the return of Belmont Stakes winner Sir Winston, but I won't be using him on my tickets.

#13 TRACKSMITH (6-1) can take this if he is able to work out a trip from an outside post. He should get pace to chase and reconnects with his winning rider, Adam Beschizza. His lone stakes win this year was at this one-mile distance.

#4 Marquee Prince (8-1) should sit a decent stalking trip. Florent Geroux rides the well-posted runner, and he guided him to a pair of local stakes wins earlier this year.

#7 The Last Zip (6-1) is a sharp, consistent early pressing type. He always runs his race in turf routes.

#5 Rijeka (15-1) moves to the Brad Cox barn, and the race shape figures to help the late runner. His task is not impossible.

Wagers:

#13 to win
