Saturday's Best Bet: Tarabi goes for broke in Dogwood
Saturday’s ninth race from Churchill Downs is the Grade 3 Dogwood Stakes for 3-year-old fillies dashing seven furlongs on the main track. Scheduled post time is 10:11 p.m. EDT.

No. 4 Tarabi (4-1) fired trifecta shots in all five starts. Echo Zulu handled her twice last year but the daughter of First Samurai is better now and might be able to turn the tables on the morning line favorite.
No. 7 Wicked Halo (7-2) captured her last three stakes starts around one turn and earned an improved speed rating in the Prioress (G2) last time. The two-time local winner figures to stalk the pace from the outside post.
No. 1 Echo Zulu (1-1) was a vet scratch in the Acorn (G1) and this is her first start in more than four months. She is quick early and easily captured all three starts around one turn, but she was faster and more brilliant as a juvenile.
No. 3 Colorful Mischief (8-1) is lightly raced and on the upswing. Todd Pletcher’s fresh filly won both of her starts at seven panels.
